The hospitality sector wastes over £2.5bn (920,000 tons) worth of food  every year in the UK alone. One of the first of its kind, this pilot project  between catering firm Restaurant Associates and technology outfit Winnow successfully reduced food waste by half over multiple sites and has the potential to revolutionise the way the sector operates. Restaurant Associates, part of the Compass Group, is an award winning contract caterer who believe great food and great service has the power to transform business success. London based tech start up Winnow produce smart meters which connect kitchens to cloud software helping chefs measure and manage food waste.
